Governance
Multiple ways in which OliveDAO empowers it's community to maximise earnings

Progressing Towards OliveDAO Governance

It's still early days for OliveDAO governance, but the intention is to develop and cultivate decentralized governance rapidly and strategically. With the largest token allocation going to the community, it will be the community that will always be in charge.

Voting on OliveDAO

Once OLIVE holders vote-lock their veOLIVE, they can start voting on various proposals.
Anybody can create proposals but users need to follow the structure of a proposal which can be found by creating a new topic on the governance forum. Users who create proposals also need to create a corresponding OIP (OliveDAO Improvement Proposal) at oip.olivedao.finance (coming soon).
Using the signalling tool is completely free (no transaction fees) and you only need 1000 veOLIVE to create a proposal there. However, there is no minimum voting power required to vote.
The protocol captures fees and has protocol tokens in its reserve. Over time, this will build into a strong reserve of various assets in OLIVE’s PCA. In the end, the PCA will be controlled by OLIVE holders through decentralized governance.
We will be revealing more details on the governance mechanism in months to come.

Voting Power

veOLIVE stands for vote-escrowed OLIVE, it's a locker where users can lock their OLIVE for different lengths of time to gain voting power. Users can lock their OLIVE for a minimum of one week and a maximum of four quarters. As users with long voting escrow have more stake, they receive more voting power.

Submitting proposals

If you wish to create a new official proposal, you should draft a proposal and post it on the governance forum. You must also research that it's possible and gauge the interest of the community via the OliveDAO Discord or Governance forum.
If you're not sure about the technical details of submitting your proposal to OliveDAO, you can ask a member of the team to help.
